John Marr Highlights the new Ian Tyson Limited Edition

John Marr of MacKenzie & Marr Guitars shows the newest addition to the company's line of acoustic guitars.
The Ian Tyson Limited Edition is a solid wood instrument with a factory installed Fishman Sonitone Onboard Preamp System. The top is 3A solid spruce braced by a scalloped X system and mated to solid Akoumé back and sides.

Denny Snyder switches to Dionisio, our cutaway cedar top solid wood acoustic guitar and plays a little ditty he wrote a few years ago.

Denny Snyder Plays Tofino

Denny Snyder's latest CD picked up the coveted "Album of the Year" award from Lys Blues so when he sat down to play Tofino we were keen to capture not only his music but his impressions of the sound and playability of our signature guitar. The Medical Post

On April 20th the smiling face of Jonathan MacKenzie, one of the founding partners of MacKenzie & Marr Guitars made an appearance in doctors' offices across the country. Not in person, mind you, but on the cover of the latest edition of "The Medical Post" a trade magazine aimed at the medical profession. The accompanying article chronicles MacKenzie's day on Dragon's Den and the subsequent success of the company.

One Crazy Week

Back in December, no sooner had we booked tickets to the annual NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) Show than CBC notified us that our Dragon's Den episode would air the night before we left for California. We knew it would be a bit hairy handling the trip and interest sparked by the show at the same time. We had no idea how hairy!!

Tune in CBC on January 13 at 8 PM to see Jonathan and I pitch our business to five savvy investors on Dragon's Den. We know we have a winner in both our Tofino acoustic guitar and our business model. Selling high end acoustic guitars direct from the factory to musicians over the Internet means huge savings compared to retail. Will the Dragons recognize either our cedar top guitar or our business plan as worthy of an investment or will they tell us our "valuation is nuts, we're being greedy an/or there's no business here".

With the impending arrival of the December production of Tofino, our acoustic guitar we decided it was time to open our Web store.
